Rusty has more than 30 years of IT experience getting his start as a hardware technician working on Macintosh and PC’s systems. Before moving into storage architecture in the early 2000’s he spent many years architecting Windows server environments in the enterprise space and continues to have a passion for Windows applications and technology.

Rusty joined NetApp in 2006 and spent 6 years in the PS organization performing large enterprise deployments before moving to a pre-sales role. After numerous years as a pre-sales architect covering various NetApp technologies Rusty took the role of Field CTO where he brings his passion for solving problems to the intersection of business and technology.

Rusty’s specialties include storage systems, data management, VMware, public/private cloud design, data protection/backup, business value discussions as well as public speaking and presenting.

When not at work you can usually find him spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, boating and riding dirt bikes.
