
Michele Thornton Ghee is the President and an equity owner of PlayersTV, an athlete-led media network redefining the intersection of sports, culture, and storytelling. She leads strategy, content, partnerships, and growth as PlayersTV scales athlete-driven programming and owned distribution.
Previously, Ghee served as Chief Content Officer at Essence Ventures and held senior
leadership roles at EBONY, JET, CNN, A&E, The History Channel, and BET Networks, where she launched BETHer, the first television network dedicated to Black women.
Over her career, she has generated more than $1 billion in revenue, authored three books, and received an Honorary Doctorate of Human Letters from Golden Gate University.
Ghee serves as the Chairman of the Board of The HBCU Honors Foundation, supporting its mission to celebrate and elevate HBCU excellence.
Ghee resides in New Jersey with her husband, Tony Ghee —a financial executive, military leader, and author and is the proud mother of Taylor Ghee (Harvard University, Class of 2027) and Jordan Ghee (The Hotchkiss School, Class of 2026)
