Jay Holzer, Head of Programming, Tastemade

Jay Holzer is the head of programming at Tastemade, a leading food media brand that engages a global audience of millions of monthly viewers on all major streaming and social platforms and creates award-winning original series and videos. At Tastemade, Holzer oversees programming and creative for the company’s streaming channels.

Holzer has been a part of the Tastemade team since its inception in 2012, when he began as the head of production, overseeing all creative development and production for the company from its first video to where it is now. In this role, Holzer co-created some of Tastemade’s early successes such as Thirsty For (a 2014 James Beard Award winner) and Tiny Kitchen.

In 2016, Holzer became Tastemade’s global head of production and development, leading the teams responsible for production, development, and casting of the original and branded shows on Tastemade’s global network, including both television and feature documentary projects. In this role, he also launched physical production studios in four countries across Europe and South America.

Previously, Holzer served as head of production at Demand Media, a digital media company that had an IPO on the NYSE in 2011. Here he oversaw the production department, creating thousands of original videos every month. Prior, Holzer co-created an early video content startup that pioneered high-scale, distributed content production.

Holzer grew up in Austin, Tex., and went to film school at the University of Texas. He now lives in Los Angeles, CA with his partner and their three children.
