Andy Beale is Director of Technology at Premier League Studios, where he is playing a central role in building the Premier League’s new in-house international media production and distribution operation.

Launching for the 2026/27 season, Premier League Studios will take over responsibility for delivering over 6,000 hours of content per season to 55 international broadcast partners across 189 global markets.

Andy has spent his career at the forefront of broadcast technology and innovation, holding senior roles at BT Media and Broadcast, Timeline Television, and Ateliere, where he served as Business Development Director, EMEA.

At BT Sport, as Chief Engineer and Head of Innovation, he led the broadcaster’s infrastructure, operations, roadmap and innovation strategy, playing a key role in establishing it as one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and award-winning sports broadcasters.

Beyond his technical career, Andy is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. He is co-founder and Chair of the Rise Up Academy, a STEM outreach programme dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue technology careers in media and entertainment.

Andy was elevated to SMPTE Fellow in 2020 and named IABM Technology Leader of the Year in 2021. His work has been recognised with prestigious RTS Awards and multiple IBC Innovation Awards, cementing his reputation as one of the most respected figures in UK broadcast technology.
