President, Broadcast Media

Salem Media Group

Allen Power is a President of Broadcast Media for Salem Media Group. He has been with Salem 25 years having served in various roles including General Manager, Regional Vice President, Senior Vice President and beginning in January 2023 in his current role. He is also an NAB Radio Board Member representing District 1. He was named by Radio Ink Magazine as one of the Top 20 Leaders in Radio in 2024 and 2025.

At age 14, Allen talked his way into a summer job at WESC AM/FM in Greenville, SC. His dream was to be a morning radio personality. As it turned out, he stayed there almost 24 years, eventually becoming the General Manager…but never the morning guy! Today he continues in radio with the same passion for the industry he had as that teenage summer intern.

His career experience includes Country, Rock, and now Christian radio. He is a graduate of North Greenville College and Furman University with a degree in business.

He came to Salem in 2000 as the first General Manager of the Atlanta market and led the launch and creation of 104.7 The Fish, WFSH, AM 920 The Answer and the re-launch of AM 970 WNIV. Prior to joining Salem, Allen was a General Manager for Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia) in Greenville, S.C.

Allen’s involvement in broadcast industry leadership has included serving as Chairman of the Board of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters (2010) and as a board member of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association in the 1990s. He has been a regular presenter to aspiring broadcast students at the GAB Radio Institute at the Grady College of Journalism at the University of Georgia. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Salem Media Group Outstanding Leadership Award. He has served as a member of the Board of the National Association of Broadcasters since 2021 and was elected to the Executive Committee in June 2025 as Second Vice Chair.

Allen has served on and chaired numerous boards and commissions, including, Chairman – United Way of Greenville County, Chairman – Community Planning Council of Greenville County, Chairman – March of Dimes WalkAmerica, Vice Chairman – Greenville Chamber of Commerce; Chairman – Center for Developmental Services, Chairman – Freedom Weekend Aloft.

Allen and his wife, Susan, have two married children and three grandsons. They live in the northern suburbs of Atlanta.

He is a voracious reader, particularly biographies, and books on leadership and history. His “spare time” priorities these days are focused on family and church activities including a weekly Bible study he has taught at First Baptist Woodstock Georgia for over 16 years.
