Paul Spinelli, Assistant VP of Corporate Engineering, Sinclair Broadcast Group

Paul Spinelli is assistant vice president of corporate engineering for Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBG), where he provides strategic and technical leadership across enterprise broadcast, distribution, and emerging technology initiatives. He was previously director of distribution and network systems, a role he assumed in 2020, and earlier served as director of engineering and engineering manager for Sinclair Television Group’s corporate facilities.

With more than 15 years at Sinclair, Spinelli has held a wide range of engineering and operations roles, contributing to the evolution of SBG’s linear and file-based acquisition and distribution strategies. He is currently part of the leadership team driving Sinclair’s cloud transformation efforts. Prior to joining Sinclair, he held engineering and technical positions at WBOC, PSAV, and QVC.

Spinelli is actively involved in broadcast industry organizations, including the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and Sports Video Group (SVG) TranSPORT Committee. He has been an SBE-certified member and an Avid Certified Support Representative for more than 19 years.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Production from Salisbury University, where he also played football. Spinelli remains engaged with his alma mater through the Salisbury University Maroon & Gold Club, supporting fundraising efforts for student-athletes.
