Valentina Caniglia is an award winning cinematographer a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, ASC; member of the Chiaroscuro Collective Society, CCS; member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and part of International Cinematographer Guild Local 600.

Valentina has transcended to the highest levels of modern cinema in the craft of cinematography. She is renowned for her distinctive and poised style, nimble and ingenuitive approach and creative dexterity when it comes to execution of her inimitable vision, as she shapes and expresses light, composition and movement to serve all kind project levels.

Valentina Caniglia was named in ‘Meet the Cinematographers Behind Some of the Biggest Movies’ TeenVogue’s article and she was selected to be in the ASC Vision Mentorship Award program.

Caniglia is known for her lighting and camera work on Feature films, TV series, commercials, and music videos. Valentina currently finished filming the movie Jesus Land, starring Juliette Lewis and Ella Anderson, based the successful New York Times best seller’s book written by Julia Scheeres and the feature film Fly Little Bird, starring Zoe Bleu Arquette and Manjinder Virk.

Valentina’s recent cinematography is the drama/thriller feature film by Minerva Pictures called ISOLA (Island), starring Fanny Ardant and Joanna Kulig (91st Academy awards and 72nd BATFA Film Awards nomination Best foreign film Cold War) exquisitely filmed through emotional and expressive visuals at the Elba’s Island, Italy. The movie premiered at the Cannes film Festival in 2025, Torino Film Festival.

She filmed the supernatural thriller feature film, Quail Hallow, with Peyton Wich and Thomas Francis Murphy, the Drama feature film Resentment. Her extraordinary cinematography work for 3 Days Rising feature film, starring Mickey Rourke, Ice-T, and Peter Greene, will be seen in 2026.

Caniglia’s amazing lighting and camera work is evident on other recent credits, including The Captain, directed by Randy Wilkins and Spike Lee; the acclaimed feature film Pomegranates and Myrrh, winner of the Golden Dagger at Muscat Film Festival for Best Cinematography; Apple TV’s series Dear X S2 and The Last Supper: A Sopranos Story: the black and white feature film Adieu Lacan; Soyka two times winner for best cinematography award at New York Cinematography awards, Canadian Cinematography awards; Fire In Water won the best cinematography award at Los Angeles film festival; Madeline’s Oil; Without Grace; her brilliant work on the film Tape directed by Deborah Kampmeier (Star Trek: Picard, Clarice, Queen Sugar, Virgin, Hounddog); and stunning cinematography on the video Stand for a Change starring Vanessa Williams and Billy Porter.

Caniglia has worked as a cinematographer for HBO, Netflix, Voyage TV Showtime. She has lensed many nationally aired commercials for British Airways, Dungeons and Dragons, Ford, Nike, GBX Shoes, Planned and Parenthood, Vivitar, Novomatic Marilyn Monroe, Pukka, Altec which received the Telly Awards. She has worked on music videos for Aesop Rock, which was number one on MTV’s top ten chart; The Roots, Miss Peppermint,vThe Stein, and Jesse Lynn Madera.

Valentina’s cinematography is attached to TV series Morning, Paris! with Margins Films. Valentina translates any kind of project into an emotional visual journey which always supports the right style and appropriate look for each different storie. Many magazines like American Cinematographer, British Cinematographer describe her cinematography as simply unique.
