Sami Aziz is a six-time Emmy-winning executive producer, creative leader, and global storyteller whose career spans some of the most influential brands, institutions, and cultural platforms in the world.
As Head of Live Broadcasts at NASA, Sami led the agency’s most ambitious global productions, including the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return, and major milestones within the Artemis Moon missions. His work reached hundreds of millions across television, streaming, and digital platforms and helped redefine how the public experiences science, exploration, and human achievement. Under his leadership, NASA+ earned its first two Emmy Awards for live content. His teams delivered more than 60 launches and commercial lunar landings, operating under immovable timelines, global scrutiny, and zero margin for error.
Before joining NASA, Sami spent nearly a decade producing ABC’s Shark Tank, shaping more than 200 episodes and guiding entrepreneurs through stories grounded in resilience, risk, and possibility. Earlier in his career, he helped bring hope to families across America on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and produced for National Geographic, Lifetime, and Sony. His experience spans unscripted television, documentary storytelling, live broadcast, and global event formats that demand precision, cultural fluency, diplomacy, and creative innovation.
Trilingual and having lived and worked in the United States, Brazil, and Spain, Sami brings a global perspective to leadership and storytelling. He is known for translating complex ideas into emotionally resonant, accessible narratives and for leading large cross-functional teams during the most visible and high-pressure moments in media.
