Robert has worked at Heartland Video Systems (HVS) for just over 4 years, focusing mainly on Call Letter TV systems. HVS is a Systems integrator and has been involved in over 90 ATSC 3.0 market launches with BitPath, Pearl, and self-launched with our help. Robert’s initial primary focus was on ATSC 1.0 Encoding, PSIP and Tech support to go along with it. A little over 2 years ago the decision was made to Pull Robert into the ATSC 3.0 team to focus his efforts there. HVS has built an ATSC 3.0 lab where they have all the major equipment available, allowing them to quickly mockup any system along with being able to test changes or new ideas offline. This lab also includes a variety of TV’s and Set Top boxes to ensure and verify across the board compatibility. Robert works with Pearl, A3SA, EIDR, EdgeBeam, and the consumer electronics companies to help solve current issues along with helping test new next gen features like Stat Mux, HDR, Atmos, Signal signing, DRM, and Virtual Channels.
