
Rachel Rose, Director of R&D at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), drives technology that aids artists in creating feature films, tv shows, and interactive media. In her 18 years at ILM, Rachel has worked on many projects, including Rango (2011), Noah (2014), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), and The Mandalorian (2019-), driving forward the award-winning StageCraft technology. Rachel is an active member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), where, among other things, she co-chairs the 2025-2026 Scientific and Technical Awards Executive Committee. Her work on BlockParty, a visual, procedural rigging system, earned her an AMPAS Technical Achievement Award in 2018.
