Nick Carroll is SVP of Technology at Rakuten Viki in Singapore, where he leads the unified Product and Engineering organisation powering a global streaming platform loved by millions of viewers worldwide. With over two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, media, and streaming, he brings deep expertise in platform scalability, video delivery, and building high-performing engineering teams.

Prior to Rakuten Viki, he served as Group Director of Engineering at Nine, overseeing the 9Now streaming platform and broadcast commercial products across TV and radio. His work spanned video ad technology, server-side ad insertion, cloud-native architecture, and industry engagement — including serving as a technical advisor to the OzTAM Technology Working Group and the Free TV Audio Description Working Group in Australia.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce in Telecommunications and Finance, and a PhD in Software Engineering, both from the University of Sydney.
