
Nestor Amaya is a seasoned engineer, entrepreneur, and technology leader with nearly three decades of experience in broadcast infrastructure, live media production, and IP solutions. Based in Ottawa, Canada, he currently serves as SVP Solutions Architecture at EVS Broadcast Equipment, where he leads a global consultancy team helping broadcasters navigate the evolving landscape of live production technology.
Before joining EVS, Nestor founded COVELOZ Technologies, pioneering live media networking technologies that went on to power equipment across the broadcast and A/V industries. Following Ross Video’s acquisition of COVELOZ in 2016, he served as VP of Infrastructure and Director of IP Solutions and Infrastructure Product Marketing. He has also contributed to world-class IP infrastructure projects at CBC/Radio-Canada and held engineering and architecture roles at Tundra Semiconductor and Ciena.
At EVS, Nestor has been instrumental in major industry milestones — including the deployment of EVS’s MediaInfra Strada routing solution for FOX Sports across the FIFA Men’s World Cup, Super Bowl, and UEFA Euro. He is a frequent speaker on topics including AI in live sports production, IP and hybrid facility management, and the future of broadcast workflows.
Nestor holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours Electrical) from McGill University.
