Rick Ackermans is a broadcast engineer and transmission specialist with more than three decades of experience across major media organizations.
Rick is the Director of R.F. and Transmissions Engineering for the CBS Television Network in New York.
Chair of the SMPTE ST 2110 Drafting Group (Officially known as “32NF-60 Drafting Group on Studio Video over IP”), a Manager of the New York SMPTE Section and a SMPTE Fellow.

Other industry activities include:
Chair of the Video Services Forum – Reliable Internet Stream Transport (RIST) Activity Group and member of the Board of Directors of the Video Services Forum.

Previous industry activities:
Served multiple terms as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
Previously worked at Turner Broadcasting System in Atlanta for 27 years holding multiple positions including Senior Engineering Director and Chief Operating Engineer of WTBS-TV.
Recipient of three group Technology and Engineering Emmy Awards.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Technology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
