
Larry Walke joined the National Association of Broadcasters in October 2001 as associate general counsel. While at NAB, Larry has focused on safeguarding broadcasters’ spectrum, radio policy, emergency preparedness, cybersecurity, and the emergency alert system, equal employment opportunity, accessibility of broadcasting, and advertising issues including political broadcasting, among other broadcasting policies and regulations.
Larry began his legal career at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where he worked on a broad range of broadcast and cable television policy issues, before moving to a large DC-based law firm where he represented competitive local and long-distance telecommunications companies. Larry later moved to a competitive local telecom carrier as regulatory counsel before joining NAB.
Prior to law school, Larry worked on Capitol Hill as an aide to a U.S. Senator. Larry graduated from Duke University with dual majors in public policy studies and economics, and received his J.D. from Washington University Law School in St. Louis, Mo., where he served as an executive editor of the Law Review. Larry currently resides in Washington, D.C.
