Kevin Callahan is Vice President, System Engineering at NBC Sports, based in Stamford, Connecticut. He leads the team responsible for the design, transmission engineering, integration, and advanced support of new broadcast systems and production facilities. His group drives the technology migrations at the NBC Sports broadcast center in Stamford, including the move to ST 2110 IP-based and 1080p HDR production.

Kevin’s 18-year broadcast career began in 2008 as an engineer with NBC Olympics, followed by work as a mobile unit engineer at NEP Broadcasting. He joined NBC Sports in 2013 as a Design and Studio Maintenance Engineer and became a Senior Engineer working in Stamford and abroad.

He moved into system design as Manager, System Design Engineering in 2019, became Director in 2022 and Senior Director in 2023, and was named Vice President in December 2024.

That path from the mobile unit and the studio to leading system design, including the transition to ST 2110, is what he brings to the field stories panel.
