Katie Eleneke, ICFC, is an award-winning Cinematographer based in Los Angeles. She is known for her work on; The Tattoo Witch directed by Lindsay Nyman, Here and There Directed by Krista Amigone and Powerpuff Girls: The Long Way Back directed by Steven Lamorte. Having spent the last 10 years predominantly in narrative, she has, as of late, been taken with documentary; recently having traveled to Malaysia and Vietnam. Katie’s introduction to photography came as a gift from her mother, in the form of a camera. Her love turned into a career when she worked as a photojournalist, a sports photographer, and as a print marketer over a span of 5 years. Michael Slovis’ work on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” captured Katie’s imagination and in 2014, she moved to LA to pursue a future in film. She graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in film and an emphasis in cinematography, while working in the industry as a first AC and camera operator.
Since 2017, Katie has worked out of the DMPC as an ambassador for Sony Cameras. She works with the Sony team to create videos that communicate the basics as well as the nuances of the cameras with the intention of transparency and accessibility. She helps cultivate relationships with industry members and Guilds to educate and train them on various cameras in the Sony Cinemaline. She has worked all over LA and the US, having spoken at CineGear and NAB with the goal of fostering comfortability with Sony amongst DPs, Camera Assistants, Operators, and hybrid shooters.
