Ernie Schaefer is a Lead Colorist, Post-Supervisor and Workflow Specialist, and Musician with more than three decades of experience in the audiovisual industry. His work spans the evolution from analog workflows to advanced digital post-production pipelines, with a focus on collaborative creative processes and technically robust workflows.

Ernie has contributed to more than 70 feature films, many recognized at major international festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Venice, Berlin, and SXSW. From its inception through the end of 2025, he served as Head of Color at Caffeine, a post-production house based in Mexico City where he helped design modern collaborative post-production pipelines with Davinci Resolve and contributed as lead colorist as part of the color team to major series productions with Netflix, Paramount+, Disney and HBO Max’s Like Water for Chocolate.

Ernie is also a Blackmagic Design Ambassador for Latin America, working with business development initiatives while serving as a DaVinci Resolve Master Trainer, collaborating with studios, filmmakers, and academic institutions to advance collaborative post-production workflows.

In his current focus of work, Ernie is the founder of PostDojo, which organizes the annual Marathon of Color and the Masterclass Collection, featuring leading colorists from across Latin America and Spain. He also directs PostDojo Live – “Inside the Post,” an initiative that connects education, industry experience, and real-world post-production practice.
