Ed Placey is a three-time Emmy-winning production executive with 43 years of experience in sports broadcasting, currently overseeing MLB coverage across regional sports networks for FanDuel Sports Network. A longtime innovator and live event producer, Ed spent over two decades leading ESPN/ABC College Football game coverage, 12 years covering the NCAA College World Series, and four years driving network-wide production innovation and new technology.

His sports broadcasting breakthroughs include CFB/NFL PylonCam, CFB Ref Cam, CWS Ump Cam, CWS SkyCam, AltCasts, Megacast™ SkyCast, and live animated Disney character AltCasts. A former member of ESPN’s Editorial Board, Ed was named a 2022 Sports Broadcast Innovation Power Player by Sports Business Journal and is slated for induction into the 2025 College Football Bowl Season Leadership Hall of Fame.
