Doug Montgomery is the CEO and founder of Global Connects, a consulting firm focused on the evolving intersection of media, technology, and education. With more than 25 years of global industry experience, he works with organizations navigating the rapid transformation of content, distribution, and digital platforms.

Prior to launching Global Connects, Doug spent over 15 years with Warner Bros. Discovery, working across the U.S., Japan, and the U.K. During this time, he helped guide major retailers and partners—including Amazon, Walmart, Microsoft, Tsutaya, and MediaMarkt-Saturn—through the industry’s transition from physical media to digital distribution and streaming.

Earlier in his career, Doug worked with Walmart International’s Global Merchandising team, supporting the integration of global retail operations and supplier networks across markets including Japan, Brazil, and the U.K.

Doug is an active member of the Japan-America Society of Southern California, where he serves on the Board of Directors and is Chairman Emeritus. He frequently speaks on global media trends and has presented at organizations including the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, UCLA, USC, the U.S.-Japan Council, and the Hollywood IT Society. In 2016, he received the Japanese government’s Cool Japan Award in recognition of his efforts promoting Japanese content and creators in the U.S.
