As a seasoned leader with 20+ years of experience in research, engineering and architecture, Chaitanya has built foundational technology in imaging, video, and immersive technology. His career spans from architecting ASICs for cryptography and video compression to pioneering volumetric, AR, VR, and XR experiences at the highest level. At Dolby Laboratories, where he spent nearly nine years, Chaitanya rose to Director of Imaging Research and Engineering and created the company’s volumetric imaging group, defining its long- and short-term research vision, leading 6-DoF real-world capture initiatives, and directing cross-functional teams that designed state-of-the-art VR headsets. Earlier at Dolby, he architected hardware for the Dolby Vision HDR reference monitors. Chaitanya is a multiple patent holder, a Lumière Award winner from the Advanced Imaging Society, and a co-author of published research on 3D mesh textures.
