Cassidy Lee Phillips is a video system design engineer specializing in high-pressure live production workflows, with an operations-centric approach to low-voltage architecture informed by over two decades in media and entertainment. His career spans a remarkable range of hands-on roles — from cable grip to master control and solutions architecture — giving him a uniquely end-to-end understanding of the industry.

As a Design Engineer and Solutions Architect, Cassidy has designed over fifty successful on-air media and entertainment systems, with deep specialization in SDI, IP, and hybrid video systems built on the SMPTE ST-2110 standard. He is widely recognized as an industry expert in IP and hybrid IP workflows for video.

He joined CEI – Communications Engineering, Inc. as Assistant Design Engineer before joining Imagine Communications, where he progressed from Enterprise Solutions Architect to VP of Networking Solutions Architecture over nearly six years. He subsequently served as Lead Solutions Architect and Director of Customer Solutions at swXtch.io before founding Cassidy Phillips Solutions in 2025.

A dedicated SMPTE leader, Cassidy currently serves as the elected Western Region Governor on the SMPTE Board and previously served as Washington, D.C. Section Manager. Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, he is passionate about growing the media industry across the Pacific Northwest and cultivating emerging talent through SMPTE student chapters.
