Buzz Hays is the Global Market Lead for Entertainment Industry Solutions at Google Cloud. His expertise extends into media production, post-production, archive modernization as well as advanced imaging production and technology in visual effects (VFX), generative AI, immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR), high frame rate, high dynamic range, and stereoscopic platforms for film, television, and gaming. Buzz is a respected leader in the entertainment industry and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), where he currently serves as a member of the Digital Media Preservation Committee. Buzz began his career at Lucasfilm as Director of Engineering where he led the research and development efforts under George Lucas at the THX Division. Since his days at Lucasfilm, Buzz has produced numerous feature films for Sony, Paramount, Disney and Universal. Buzz has also spoken at influential media and entertainment conferences around the world. He is the Chairman of the Advanced Imaging Society, and is a member of industry professional organizations including the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), Sports Video Broadcasting Group (SVG), and the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA). Buzz holds an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California and recently completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business LEAD Program in Innovation Leadership. Buzz worked as a film, television, visual effects and animation producer for over 25 years in Hollywood. Buzz is based in Los Angeles with his wife, a writer, and his twin sons who are Sophomores at UCLA and LMU. ***********
