Annie Hanlon is an accomplished executive and an award-winning producer with expertise spanning advertising and commercials, immersive and virtual production, traditional film and series, digital, emerging technology, and documentary production. After leaving Netflix in 2023, she co-founded Playbook PLBK to help clients navigate business opportunities, foster impactful partnerships, and implement strategies that drive innovation to help tell the best stories using responsible AI, real-time, virtual production, multi-platform, and advanced technology across all mediums.

As a key member of the Virtual Production team at Netflix, Annie worked closely with Production and VFX title management teams to ensure seamless organization and effective execution of Series and Film productions on projects leveraging advanced technology, while also overseeing the build and deployment of LED Volume stages. An early adopter of virtual reality, Annie was VP/Head of Content Partnerships at Light Field technology company Lytro (acquired by Google). She has produced award-winning immersive projects on a global scale, including the VR documentary “The Protectors” (dir Kathryn Bigelow), which premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival during her tenure as executive producer at VR production company Here Be Dragons. 

Annie is a sought-after industry speaker (NAB, CES, U.S. Space & Rocket Center, LG Nova Innovation Festival, PI Apparel, among many others) and a member of VES, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and a board member of the Infinity Festival. A 2024 graduate of Space Camp (Huntsville, AL), she has served as an instructor for graduate students at Boston University and has mentored filmmakers at Meta as well as students at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
