Andy started in radio in high school and other than a brief detour to the railroad he has been in media ever since. He recently left PBS after 29 years. During his time at PBS Butler worked on a variety of projects including building a new three story building for IT and Technical Operations. Other projects included a fully digital ingest/production center and a complete rebuild of the Satellite Operations Center.

Prior to PBS Andy was vice president of Engineering for Doubleday Broadcasting. He supervised new studio and transmitter installations in a number of cities including WFAN in New York City.

Butler is a Fellow of SBE, served in a variety of local and national positions for the society including two terms as national President.
