Aaron Steiner is the General Manager and Director of Engineering for Oceanographic Products at SeeScan, Inc., where he leads DeepSea Power & Light’s product development, operations, and technology strategy. He began his career with DeepSea in 2010 as an electrical engineer developing imaging and lighting systems for deep ocean exploration and has since guided the creation of advanced oceanographic cameras and illumination technologies. His technical expertise spans system design, power and analog electronics, optical imaging, LED lighting, and embedded electronics.

Aaron’s team at DeepSea developed the first ultra-high-definition camera to film at nearly 11,000 meters at Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, as featured in Expedition Deep Ocean. Their cameras were also the first to to capture the wrecks of the HMS Titanic and Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance in UHD. His work focuses on adapting high end imaging systems for operation under the immense pressure and darkness of the deep ocean.
