At this presentation, the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and NAB will discuss the release of the latest Broadcast Station Self-Inspection Guides. SBE is expected to announce a number of new Guides that are in the works and are expected to be released during NAB Show or shortly afterwards.

The SBE, in collaboration with NAB, developed the Guides as a tool for broadcasters to use for self-inspection of broadcast stations, to assist in assurance of compliance with the FCC Rules and Regulations. At the 2024 NAB Show, the SBE and NAB released the first of these guides for FM and television broadcast stations. Later in 2024, the SBE announced release of the AM Broadcast Station Self Inspection Guide at the SBE annual meeting in Madison, Wisconsin. Again in 2025 at the NAB Show, SBE announced the release of the LPFM Guide.

The Guides have been widely praised by broadcast engineers and industry stakeholders alike, with more than 750 downloads recorded by SBE within the first two weeks of their initial release—demonstrating strong demand for practical compliance resources across the broadcast community.

SBE and NAB will also host an additional session open to all interested attendees for discussion of the new Guides on April 20 at 3:30 PM in Room N225.
