This session takes a technical deep dive into architecting and deploying cloud-
enabled post-production workflows. Using real-world case studies, we’ll examine
how distributed teams access high-resolution media, maintain performance, and
ensure data integrity across hybrid and fully cloud environments.
We’ll explore streaming file systems such as LucidLink, scalable remote
infrastructure via EditShare FLEX Cloud, and synchronised global storage solutions
including Blackmagic Design Cloud Store. Topics include bandwidth optimisation,
proxy vs full-res workflows, latency considerations, security protocols, project sharing
in DaVinci Resolve, and cost-performance trade-offs.
Attendees will gain practical insight into designing resilient, collaborative pipelines
that support editors, colourists and finishing teams working across multiple locations
without compromising speed or quality.
This session is delivered by Phillippa Beasley-Swanson, whose combined expertise
as a Senior Finishing Artist and academic at Ravensbourne University London brings
both industry practice and research-led insight to the discussion. Her academic
research into evolving post-production technologies, remote collaboration models
and workflow innovation provides a critical framework for understanding not just how
cloud systems function, but why they are reshaping the future of media production.
