U.S. Visa Integrity Fee (Status Uncertain)

A U.S. law passed in 2025 introduced a proposed “Visa Integrity Fee” of $250 for certain non-immigrant visa categories, including B-1/B-2 business and tourism visas.

However recent 2026 sources report that the fee has not been implemented or collected, and the U.S. government has not confirmed an operational rollout date.

For now, international travelers should continue to apply under the existing U.S. visa fee structure, while monitoring official government updates in case implementation occurs in the future. If implemented, the fee would be:

• Applied per individual applicant for covered non-immigrant visa categories
• In addition to standard visa application (MRV) fees
• Potentially subject to refund rules tied to visa compliance (details not finalized)
• Not applicable to Visa Waiver Program travelers or Canadian citizens*
• Applies to travelers from markets such as India, Brazil, China, Mexico, much of the Middle East, and Africa.

We recommend checking official U.S. government guidance before applying, as visa policies and fees may change with little notice.

*If eligible under the Visa Waiver Program, you must obtain an ETSA prior to traveling
