Media Accreditation and Show Registration

Media/press credentials for NAB Show and NAB Show New York are reserved for journalists, analysts, content creators/influencers, podcasters and others whose primary purpose in attending is to produce coverage, analysis or substantive content about the show or the industries it serves. Applicants must demonstrate a recent and relevant history of such work.

All applicants must apply for credentials for every show and are reviewed individually. While previous show attendance does not guarantee approval, a history of coverage may support an applicant’s accreditation request.

To qualify for a press pass, your application must demonstrate the following things:

  • Editorial Focus: You are attending primarily to produce coverage, analysis or substantive content about NAB Show and NAB Show New York or the industries it serves for an established media outlet, publication or channel, or through a creator platform with a demonstrated history of relevant content and a meaningful audience. For creators and influencers, relevance, consistency, audience size, engagement and subject-matter influence may be considered. Commercial, promotional or portfolio content for an employer, exhibitor, sponsor or client does not, in itself, establish eligibility for media accreditation.
  • Recent Activity: You have published at least three examples of relevant coverage, analysis or substantive content within the last 24 months.
  • Public Access: All supporting links must be publicly viewable. We cannot review content behind paywalls, login screens or private portfolios.

You can demonstrate your editorial role through one of the following:

  • Letter of Assignment: An email or letter from an independent editor or producer. (Note: We do not accept “self-assignment” letters from personal production or photography businesses.)
  • Verifiable Byline: Proof of your role as a staff member or regular contributor at a recognized outlet.
  • Existing Portfolio: For independent creators and analysts, a consistent history of covering industry tech or trends on a public platform (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Substack, podcast etc.).
  • Supporting Editorial Personnel: Press credentials may be issued to photographers, videographers, camera operators, producers or other personnel whose onsite role directly supports the creation of qualifying coverage by an approved media organization or creator. Credentials are not generally issued to editors, executives, publishers, administrative personnel or others whose presence onsite is not necessary to produce that coverage.

Note on Credentials: Providing a press ID, badge or business card from a media outlet helps establish professional legitimacy, but it is not sufficient for accreditation on its own. It must be accompanied by evidence of recent reporting or a clear intent to cover the current show.

Accreditation is determined based on the evidence provided at the time of application.

  • Application Documentation: Applicants are responsible for providing the links and documentation needed to demonstrate eligibility. We do not independently research or “Google” applicants, outlets or organizations to verify credentials or establish eligibility.
  • Additional Information: If an application is declined due to insufficient evidence, applicants are welcome to submit additional documentation (such as a formal letter of assignment or recent bylines) for reconsideration by emailing [email protected].

The following roles generally do not qualify for press credentials and should register in other  attendee categories:

  • Technical and Production Crews: Camera operators, Steadicam/DIT professionals and for-hire crews attending for technical development or to scout gear for their own businesses.
  • Sales and Marketing: Roles in business development, advertising or PR.
  • Exhibitors and Sponsors: Please apply to exhibit or contact our sales team.
  • Content Creator VIP Program: An application-based program for creators who may qualify for exclusive networking, programming and other benefits without the reporting requirements of a press pass. Learn more.
  • Attendee Registration: Industry professionals are encouraged to register as attendees to access the show floor and all professional networking opportunities.
