Eric Reinecke is a Software Engineer and Tech Lead for Studio Encoding on the Video Algorithms team at Netflix. Eric is also the Technical Steering Committee Chair and a co-creator of the OpenTimelineIO project.

At Netflix, Eric leads development of post-production encoding services and builds scalable promotional AV asset localization tools. Over the past 20 years, Eric has gained experience in live action production, post-production, and 3D animation, where he switched focus to the flashpoint of storytelling and technology.

Eric previously built scaled encoding infrastructure for filmmakers at PIX System and creative-centric pipelines to connect previsualization, production, and editorial at Lucasfilm Animation.
Eric is a co-creator of OpenTimelineIO — an open source editorial timeline interchange format and software toolset.
