
Alison Brower is executive editor at The Ankler, supervising newsletters, podcasts and live journalism coverage of film and TV, Hollywood dealmaking and the creator economy. Previously, she was the L.A. bureau chief at Business Insider and the deputy editor for arts and entertainment at the Los Angeles Times, where she spearheaded cultural and business coverage as well as investigative features on celebrities and longstanding L.A. institutions, and was awarded an Emmy for The Emmys Roundtable: Showrunners.
From 2013-19, as deputy editorial director at the Hollywood Reporter, Brower led entertainment, culture and news coverage; she was also the architect of the magazine’s high-wattage power lists and other special projects. Before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, Brower was the founding editor-in-chief of Dr. Oz: The Good Life at Hearst and held top editorial positions at magazines including Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Redbook and Seventeen. She began her journalism career at Adweek and has contributed to publications from O: The Oprah Magazine to Popular Mechanics.
