Bruce McCleery, ASC
Bruce’s path into cinematography began with the Zeiss Contaflex 35mm SLR he carried on a year-long excursion around Europe and the U.S. while taking a break from philosophy studies at Vassar College. That “shaped the way I see and interpret the world” and after spending a lot of time in the darkroom, he returned to study film. After earning a graduate degree at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television, he persued a successful career as a lighting technician and gaffer on pictures such as Independence Day, Pleasantville, and Friday Night Lights.
His impressive list of second-unit and additional photography feature credits includes Terminator: Dark Fate, Black Panther, Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, Tomorrowland, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Trek Beyond, Super 8, Mission: Impossible III, and Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, among many others.
