Steve Kolta has spent more than two decades at the intersection of AV technology, engineering, and product strategy — and few topics are closer to his expertise than making IP-based broadcast systems actually work in the real world.

Steve currently leads Broadcast Media Synchronization, Engineering, and Market Development at Meinberg, where he focuses on the precise timing and sync solutions that keep modern broadcast infrastructure running.

At the SMPTE ST 2110 Bootcamp, Steve brings hands-on perspective to Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and ST 2059 — the timing backbone that makes ST 2110 production environments possible.

Before Meinberg, Steve spent over five years at Christie Digital Systems managing their CMP product line, and has held roles at Atlona, Crestron Electronics, Extron Electronics, and Planar Systems — spanning technical sales, systems design, and product management across the full AV ecosystem.

With certifications including CTS and DMC-E-4K, Steve is known for translating complex standards into practical, operational knowledge that engineering and production teams can actually use.
