
Jem Schofield has been creating corporate, promotional, commercial and educational content for over 25 years. His journey began with his first real camera (a used Pentax K-1000), which eventually led to his passion and focus professionally, moving images.
Jem is the founder of theC47, a full-service production company (now based in the Pacific Northwest’s Willamette Valley), that provides video production, post-production, consulting and educational services. His company has consistently produced high quality content for a wide range of clients such as Age of Learning (ABC Mouse), Apple, Canon U.S.A, RØDE, Steadicam and ZEISS.
Passionate about sharing his knowledge about the tech & craft of video production and filmmaking, Jem can be seen both in front of and behind the camera and has conducted in-person workshops at NAB, YouTube Studios and for Fortune 500 companies. Jem is also an equipment design consultant to many manufacturers in the film and television industry and has consulted on product design and development for ARRI, Kino Flo, Fuji, Miller Tripods, Sekonic, Tenba, Tiffen and Calibrite. He also designed theC47 DP Kit & theC47 Book Light Kit with FJ Westcott (geared towards corporate, in-house and small-to-no-crew production).
