
Matthias Schnöll received his Ph.D. in 2003. After studying physical engineering, he worked as a project engineer at IBM in Mainz. Since 1992, he has been a research assistant at Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences in the Television Technology and Electronic Media program.
Since 2010, he has been a professor at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, specializing in media systems. He lectures on digital broadcast system technologies, networked digital studio architecture, image coding, and artificial intelligence. His research focuses on exchange formats, digital image processing, video compression, and artificial intelligence. He is a member of the German FKTG (Association of German Television and Video Engineers).
