Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF)

Catherine Newman serves as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at U.S. Soccer having joined in July 2024. She leads the Federation’s integrated Marcomms function, shaping and executing brand, marketing, and communications strategies that deepen connections with fans, partners, and members nationwide. Before U.S. Soccer, Newman was Executive Vice President of Marketing at WWE, where she focused on global fan engagement, media partnerships, revenue growth, and brand evolution. Recognized on the Forbes 2023 Entrepreneurial CMO list, she pioneered a new approach to fan segmentation that drove stronger targeting, wider reach, and expanded revenues.

Earlier in her career, Newman was the first-ever CMO of Manchester United, where she overhauled global marketing strategy, delivering record fan growth and leading the club’s app to become the most downloaded and engaged sports app worldwide. She also held senior leadership roles at Times Newspapers, News Corp, and the Financial Times in London. A Loughborough University alumna, Chartered Institute of Marketing postgraduate, and Marketing Academy Fellow and mentor, Newman now lives in Atlanta with her family, where they share a love of soccer.
