In 2020, Sunday is the New Monday
We are excited to announce the change of new exhibit days and hours for the 2020 NAB Show. Below are common questions and reasoning behind the change.
As our industry continues to undergo an enormous amount of change and disruption, we remain committed to evolving along with it to drive more attendance and continue to deliver and improve value for our exhibitors, attendees and partners. That’s why we are excited to announce a new pattern for the show that moves that start of the exhibit floor to Sunday and extend through Wednesday.
Sunday provides an option for production professionals who are unable to participate during their busy work week. Moving the date pattern to include Sunday better aligns with our existing education programs and tracks. Based on research we have done with our attendees and exhibitors we know that 4 days generally works; and we believe this shift makes the last couple of days of the show more attractive and allows us to finish with a strong Wednesday.
It is actually just one hour less than it was than last year – but this will position the show to have a better overall 4- day experience. We would look to evaluate different start times in subsequent years.
Yes, many other shows serving professional users, in and outside of our industry feature some weekend hours – SMPTE, IBC. CES date pattern changes almost every year.
The Independent Video Production Market is booming, just look at your Netflix menu and all the other over the top packages. A Sunday open gives these content creators the opportunity to attend, during non-working days/hours. A good part of this community is based in California, and they can drive or take a quick flight to attend over the weekend.
Our research shows that our core attendees including TV, Radio, Cable, and Post Production, would also like the option of a weekend day to get a head start on the show floor.
While we all know costs for everything continue to rise, we’re investing in your success and growing alongside you. In conjunction with the unlimited material handling program introduced last year, we are adding more savings in 2020 through our partners - stay tuned! This is providing you with measurable and real savings to help you grow and enhance your show experience.
