Kathy Haley is co-founder and publisher of NewsCheckMedia LLC, which operates TVNewsCheck, a leading source of continuously updated business news for the media industry and allied fields. Under her leadership, the company has also launched the annual Women in Technology Awards and three successful conferences: Programming Everywhere, Local TV Strategies and NewsTECHForum.

Prior to founding NewsCheckMedia, Haley covered the media industry for a variety of publications and as owner of Kathy Haley & Associates, a company that provided custom publishing services to companies ranging from the New York Times, Advertising Age, Adweek, Multichannel News and Broadcasting & Cable (formerly Broadcasting).

Haley got her start at Broadcasting, where she was a congressional correspondent and New York bureau chief. Prior to starting KHA, she served as editor of View, the NATPE Programmer and Cablevision magazines. She also was editor of Extra Extra Daily, which publishes dailies at four major TV conventions each year.

Haley graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1974 with a BA in English. She, her husband and their two children live in Wynnewood, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia.
