Joe Croney is the Chief Technology Officer of Arc XP, the Operating System for Media developed by The Washington Post. Since joining in 2022, Joe has led the teams driving Arc’s product strategy, software development, and technical operations.

An entrepreneurial leader at the intersection of technology, media, and business strategy, Joe brings more than two decades of experience building scalable platforms with exceptional developer experiences—leveraging big data, cloud computing, and AI.

Before Arc XP, Joe spent nine years at The Associated Press, where he led product development for ENPS, the world’s leading broadcast newsroom computer system. He began his career at Microsoft and has since been dedicated to advancing the role of technology in media innovation.

In 2024, Joe spearheaded a bold new product strategy for Arc XP, inspired by the belief in the “Power of storytelling to change the world.” This strategy embraces AI to enable hyper-personalized media experiences and support the sustainable growth of modern media organizations.
