Jim Stagnitto

Director of Engineering at NYPR

Jim Stagnitto has been a broadcast professional since 1971, starting in local radio in Northern New Jersey. He has been active in the New York City radio engineering community for the last 42 years.

 He’s had the opportunity to "do it all", having been involved in studio and equipment design and construction, planning and installation of new transmitter sites, audio processing, systems integration, production, disaster recovery, and even fill-in on air work.

Currently, Jim is Director of Engineering for New York Public Radio.

Some of the industry activities he has been active in include serving as a member of the Executive Committee for the Empire State Building Master FM Antenna Group, being a member of the NAB Engineering Conference Planning Committee, and as an instructor for the State Department sponsored International Media Fund, which introduced commercial broadcasting to the Czech and Slovak Republics.

Jim is a Lifetime Member of IEEE.
