Jason Sloan

Assistant General Counsel at US Copyright Office

Jason Sloan is Assistant General Counsel at the U.S. Copyright Office, where he handles a wide variety of matters concerning the nation’s copyright laws, including litigation, regulatory proceedings, legislation, and policy reports.  He provides legal guidance to the divisions and programs of the Copyright Office and advises congressional offices, the Department of Justice, and other federal agencies on copyright and related issues.  Much of his current work focuses on music and artificial intelligence.  Jason joined the Copyright Office in 2015 after several years in private practice in New York.  He earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School, where he served on the Boston College Law Review.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in music and political science from Florida State University.
