Felix Duchesneau is the Director of AWS Thinkbox and AWS Deadline Cloud, a fully managed service that simplifies render management for teams creating computer-generated 2D/3D graphics and visual effects for films, TV shows, commercials, games, and industrial design. In January 2024, his team launched Open Job Description (OpenJD), a specification for describing portable render jobs with work instructions and asset locations in a way that is extensible and open to help create interoperable pipelines. This open specification is human and machine readable for ease of development, designed to be extensible for new types of visual compute workflows and applications, and made available for public comment under a Creative Commons (CC) license. Felix has been at AWS for 9 years and is also a 16-year game industry veteran credited on a variety of titles including Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance.
