Erik Weaver is a producer, architect, and speaker specializing in the intersection of cloud technology and the media & entertainment (M&E) industry. He currently leads Virtual & Adaptive production projects at the University of Southern California’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), including work on ICVFX and Virtual Production. Weaver has held leadership roles, such as overseeing Global M&E Strategy for Western Digital and spearheading ETC’s “Production in the Cloud” initiative. He has also been an executive producer on several notable projects, including The Suitcase (CAA People’s Choice Award, Tribeca 2017) and Wonder Buffalo (SXSW Interactivity competition). His work has earned Emmy nominations and involves cutting-edge technologies like HDR, cloud workflows, and volumetric capture. Additionally, Weaver has chaired multiple industry events and contributed to standards groups like SMPTE C4 MR30, educating the M&E industry on data management and technology integration.
