SESSION SPEAKER

Dustin Supencheck

Cinematographer at Independent Professional

Dustin Supencheck was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, where he grew up working on his family's watermelon farm. His love for storytelling led him to study filmmaking at Columbia College Chicago, specializing in cinematography. Following graduation, he spent five months on a road documentary after which he landed in Austin, Texas, where he developed his skills as a camera assistant and lighting technician. He eventually moved to Los Angeles, where he continues to develop his craft as a camera operator, Steadicam operator and Director of Photography in independent cinema.

Dustin considers himself a “swiss army knife” having worked in many roles across many platforms, genres and mediums, from camera to lighting, from music videos to short films and commercials, sketch comedy, live broadcast, and feature films including Hypochondriac, premiering at SXSW 2022 and Touch Me, which premiered at Sundance 2025 with director Addison Heimann.

When Dustin isn’t on set, he’s probably at the Alamo Drafthouse watching a film and drinking a nice draft beer or sitting on a stump in the wilderness. “Let’s keep making beautiful images and inspiring audiences.”
