Alex Cannon serves as the Creative Director of Sony Pictures’ Torchlight, bringing over 20 years of experience in film production and visual storytelling. With a career spanning more than 60 shows and over 200 sequences, Alex is dedicated to ensuring that a filmmaker’s vision is fully realized on screen.

In his leadership role, Alex oversees the creative and artistic direction of Torchlight while also maintaining close relationships with filmmakers, often supervising projects firsthand. Renowned for his ability to craft compelling visual content from inception, he is frequently called upon to design pitches for confidential, in-development projects—many of which play a pivotal role in securing greenlights for major productions.

His supervising credits include blockbuster films for Sony, Disney, Marvel, Skydance, Universal, and Warner Bros. Prior to his role at Torchlight, Alex was instrumental in building a world-class Previsualization department at DNEG and also served as a supervisor at MPC. His expertise and creative vision continue to shape some of the industry’s most ambitious cinematic projects.
