FCC Chairman Ajit Pai to Address 2017 NAB Show
WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai will address the 2017 NAB Show at a General Session open to all attendees on Tuesday, April 25 in Las Vegas. The address is expected to provide insight into the FCC’s policy and regulatory objectives related to broadcasting, technology and communications law and regulation.
Designated FCC chairman by President Donald J. Trump in January 2017, Pai subscribes to a regulatory philosophy centered on innovation, investment, creating better products and services, lowering prices, job creation, and economic growth. He had previously served as commissioner at the FCC, appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate in May 2012.
“We know from his tenure as FCC commissioner that Ajit Pai believes deeply in the value of free and local broadcasting,” said NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith. “Chairman Pai’s appearance at NAB Show represents a tremendous opportunity for attendees to hear first-hand about his regulatory philosophy and priorities.”
