Produced in partnership with Broadcast Beat, “NAB Show LIVE” will capture the scope and influence of the 2017 NAB Show, presenting buzz-worthy moments and topics live as they happen. The Show will broadcast online at nabshow.com and broadcastbeat.com and feature live streaming of select conference sessions as well as interviews with leading industry experts and vendors.
The program is produced in the state-of-the-art M.E.T. 360˚ Studio, powered by NeuLion in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Over 30 Broadcast Beat Magazine crew members will canvas the Show floor to highlight the best in broadcast innovation and share attendee experiences with real-time online coverage via Facebook, Periscope, Twitter and YouTube.

Ryan Salazar - Executive Producer
Ryan Salazar is the Editor-In-Chief of Broadcast Beat Magazine, a leading digital publication providing news-and-information to technical folks in the broadcast, motion picture and post production communities. Ryan Salazar is a seasoned industry professional with over two decades of experience in the broadcast, post production and information technology fields. His articles have appeared in the Daytime Emmy Awards (Emmy Almanac), Broadcast Engineering Magazine and other trade publications. Aside from being featured in many post-production engineering trade and industry publications, Ryan has also participated in various National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conferences. He has taken part in many broadcast industry events and has been a member of The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Broadcast Technology Society (IEEE BTS) and the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (ACM SIGGRAPH). In fact, many manufacturers regularly seek Salazar's counseling on features for both software and hardware offerings, and he has consulted for organizations and local government entities. He resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Liz Motley - Supervising Producer
Liz has been in the broadcast and television production space for over twenty years. Liz is responsible for making sure Broadcast Beat’s NAB Show LIVE crew runs on-time and as planned! Our digital diva has produced television for networks and companies including Disney, CBS, FOX, Hearst, PBS, America's Voice, RFD-TV, America's Health Network, Dillard's, Lancome, Royal Caribbean, Crayola, Fisher Price, Coppola Wines and Caymus Vineyards. Liz is based in Nashville, TN.
Jeff Adams - Correspondent
Jeff Adams is an individual who has devoted the last 24 years of his life to the Entertainment Industry and the last 8 years to internet broadcasting. He has developed a broad base of knowledge in video and Audio streaming. He has hosted The Jeff Adams Show (a Creative Tech Comedy show) for the last three years. The Theme of the show is “What Technology do you use to be Creative?” The show is geared to Broadcasters, podcasters and streaming Entertainers.
Jaimi Alexander - Correspondent
Jaimi Alexander is a Los Angeles-based actress, a spokes-model, an entrepreneur and a producer. With credits in film, television, web video and radio, her true passion is connecting people within this ‘community of fearless creation.’ Devoted to her craft, her personality, charm and enthusiasm is contagious. Her on-camera presence lures audiences in; this down-to-earth aura comes from her ability to draw interviewees out by engaging them in genuine conversation. She’s hosted many red carpet events for award shows including the Diversity Awards and the Soul Train Awards. Jaimi continues to host events in Los Angeles and New York City, two of her favorite hot spots.
Jude Andam has always had an appreciation for makeup artistry and hairstyling, notably their ability to bring about a transformation in not only the physical aspects but also the attitude of the subject. She graduated from college and worked in a number of career fields, but each job always left her feeling incomplete. It wasn’t until she started a career in the beauty industry that she truly felt satisfied. Since realizing her passion, Jude has graduated from Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry, has become a licensed Facial Specialist and has received hairstyling education from celebrity hairstylist Johnny Lavoy. She has worked a variety of industry fields including advertising, fashion, editorial, live events and runway. Jude has also worked in motion for film, TV, video and commercial productions. Clients include Tiger Woods Ventures, Sony – Latin America, Amazon Video, Finish Line, Viacomm, FUSE TV, CNN Latino, United Way, Veuve Clicquot, Belk, MaxMara, Aeropostale and Alfred Angelo.
Jude currently lives in Miami but is in the works of becoming bicoastal, adding a residence in Los Angeles.
Ross Axiotis - Video Editor
After over 25 years in the industry Ross has edited a wide variety of genres including TV dramas, documentaries, commercials and award-winning shorts. Ross began his film career while attending the University of South Florida along with fellow classmate and acclaimed writer director Kurt Wimmer, who's film credits include Equilibrium, Salt and The Thomas Crown Affair. This is where Ross was awarded 1st place scholarships for two of his fine arts films. Ross went on to add to his roster of skills by becoming a technical director at HSN. After moving back to Greece, where he was born, he quickly landed a position with Mangos PostModern as the only AVID editor in the country for over 2 years where he edited feature films, trailers, music videos and commercials with local legends like director Nikos Perakis and editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis. After returning to New York City, he went on to edit for award winning post production boutiques like EvenTime, MadHouse and industry mavericks like Visible World. His enthusiasm for storytelling is matched only by his total dedication to the craft of editing, his world-class technical expertise and his undisputed love of good food. He is also a voice over actor and a member of SAG/AFTRA.
Christina Bankhead - Social Media
Christina Bankhead works with Broadcast Beat’s social media team and also as a production assistant in the NAB Show LIVE studio environment. She makes sure that all of our new guests are posted online and coordinates with our Supervising Producer as well as Social Media Director.
Larry Becker - Correspondent
Reporting on and teaching technology since the 90s, Larry Becker is one of the most trusted technology expert reviewers in the field of photography and video today. Larry has covered the NAB Show, as well as other industry trade shows, with floor interviews, he's been a consulting advisor to the world's leading tech companies regarding their video communications and his reviews have guided thousands of purchase decisions. Larry has written and been the on camera talent in pro training videos from Canon USA, B&H Photo, Sony, and Kelby One.
While Larry serves a host of national clients with technology based training and review videos, his direct audience learns simple video production via Larry’s online classes for small business in-house DIY video production. In that role Larry also coaches entrepreneurs and CEOs regarding their on-camera presence and web based video communications.
Norman C. Berns - Social Media
Norman has a 40 year history of producing award-winning productions and ground breaking commercials. He recently completed work with Miami PD’s SWAT unit for French TV’s, “The Insider.” He previously produced and directed the three-part PBS series on the history of writing, “The Writing Code” and won an Emmy for his “intermission features” created for the Metropolitan Opera. Norman was a Line Producer on television’s first super-gritty, almost-reality cop show, "The Street," for Universal and the CBS series, "Wish You Were Here.” Norman is the founder of LinkedIn’s 200,000 member group called, "Film and Television Professionals” and is based in New York.
Nikki Broeckelmann - Correspondent
Nikki Broeckelmann... what can we say? She's crazy, but crazy in a good way. Everyone loves chatting with her on-camera, partly because they never know what outrageous thing she’ll do next! Nikki compares the feeling she gets walking into NAB to one a child gets walking into a toy store! Some of her favorite “toys” to chat about are those relating to augmented and virtual reality technology. She’s all about the spotlight and isn’t afraid to show it! Nikki has worked as a correspondent with Broadcast Beat for the last few years, but working a camera isn’t all she can do. Off camera, she is also quite skilled in video editing, motion graphics and graphic design, to name a few. Nikki is looking forward to another exciting NAB Show this year!
Kate Cooley - Social Media
Kate Cooley graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. Her experience is well-rounded in the entertainment industry as she has worked in radio, television and behind-the-scenes. The 2016 NAB Show will be Kate's third year working for Broadcast Beat during the duration of NAB Show. Kate is heavily involved with Broadcast Beat’s social media accounts, keeping our social media audience informed and up-to-date with NAB events. She currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For over two decades, Jeanette DePatie has served as a professional “techsplainer”--taking really complicated technologies and technological concepts and breaking them down into everyday language that everyone can understand. She has shared her wildly entertaining and educational views on technology trends with companies like, McDonalds, Reynolds, Meredith, Better Homes and Gardens, Facebook and 20th Century Fox. She also proudly boasts that she once raised several million dollars in venture capital for a technology company with a presentation featuring two pieces of PVC pipe, a plastic funnel and a rubber chicken. She has been hired to describe technology by a host of Fortune 500 companies including Adobe, Apple, Intel, Microsoft, Monsanto, NTT Electronics, Panasonic, Pulitzer Samsung and Sony. She is highly sought after for her dynamic and fun presentations and has spoken at CES, NAB, SMPTE, CEATECH, The Lean Startup Conference, and a variety of Colleges and Universities including Dickenson College, UCLA and USC. She is frequently contacted by the media and has appeared on or in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Dr. Drew, The Katie Couric Show, ABC News, CBS Interactive, NPR and The Huffington Post.
Pablo Fonseca is a jack of all trades when it comes to media production. He began his production career in 1998. For the first 9 years of his career, he worked doing live television for different networks (Telemundo, Univision and Sushine Network). In 2007 he transitioned out of live tv and began working for Zimmerman Advertising as a junior editor/designer for Studio Z. Currently he is a senior editor/designer for Omni Advertising. Pablo also moonlights as an independent producer for his own company Velvet Rey Productions for which he produces, directs, edits and shoots all types of projects for all types of clients; Broadcast Beat Magazine being one of them.
Brooks Forester work behind the scenes for 8 years in Film and Marketing before stepping in front of the camera as an on-camera personality. He is a born story teller who is driven by an insatiable curiosity. He loves people and hearing their story. Brooks joined the Broadcast team in 2016 at AES in Los Angeles where Brooks resides.
Tim Fox - Engineer
Tim is a dear friend of Ryan Salazar’s and has put in countless hours helping make Broadcast Beat Studios a reality! Tim is certainly our “go-to” guy for all facility development, construction, upgrades and maintenance. Tim’s background stems from the broadcast business, having worked in various production capacities from cameraman, to production manager, to head of operations. Tim has worked in developing post production facilities to service the production needs of MTV Latino, Discovery Latin America, and numerous other companies. This guy is a genius!
Andrew Hancock - Director & Cinematographer
Andrew has worked as a cinematographer with some of the biggest brands in the world. Coca-Cola, Colgate, Gatorade, AirBnB, Sears and Pizza Hut, have all had videos shot by Andrew reach into the millions of views on YouTube. He was a finalist at the Sundance Film Festival with a short documentary for General Electric. He produces all of the content for Tobacco Motorwear, helping them fund into the top 1% of all Kickstarter campaigns. He once took a trip with 10 motorcyclists from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and back, and shot a 9 part web series along the way. When he isn't holding a camera, he is either jumping out of a plane, climbing an African mountain, or scuba diving for lobster.
Brian Seth Hurst - Correspondent
Brian Seth Hurst is regarded internationally as an expert on the strategy, construction, business modeling and maintenance of storyworlds for storytellers, franchises, technology companies and brands and the evolving conversation/collaboration between the storyteller and the audience. Highly committed to the informed collaboration between storytellers and technologists he is regarded as a subject matter expert in the burgeoning field of Virtual Reality.
Brian has been key strategist for innovation by some of the world’s best-known brands including TVGuide, Showtime, TiVo, Virgin America, BT, NBCUniversal, Endemol, SVT(Sweden) and Intel. Hurst is currently an executive producer on Tim Kring’s award winning multiplatform property “Conspiracy for Good” for which he created the terms “Social Benefit Storytelling” and “Social Benefit Marketing” to describe this new entertainment genre and the project’s impact. He is also creator and executive producer of “DetermiNATION2016,” a new project from Bunim/Murray. Hurst is also the author of the best selling children’s book “A Pig Tale” written with Olivia-Newton John and “WHOLE” a collection of essays on life’s challenges.
Joshua James is an American born cinematographer, editor, and colorist, currently living and working in South Florida. Represented by THE MIDAS COLLECTIVE, Joshua specializes in intensely impactful cinema through rhythm, sound, and color.
Debra Kaufman has covered entertainment/media technology for almost 30 years. She currently writes for the Entertainment Technology Center @USC’s daily newsletter ETCentric, as well as American Cinematographer, International Cinematographer, the Editor’s Guild CineMontage, TV Technology, Digital Video and Film & Video. She wrote for The Hollywood Reporter for 20 years, and has also seen her work published in Wired, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and nearly every entertainment industry trade publication.
Steve Lipsey is a technical director / director of more than thirty years who started his career at CNN in the early eighties. As a bilingual English and Spanish speaker, he has had the opportunity to direct in Spanish for Telemundo, Discovery en Español, MTV Latino and Univision. He also technical directs professional and college sports on the major and cable networks and is a NewTek Tricaster operator for broadcast and corporate events and this year's NAB Show LIVE!
Erika Marshall is a video editor and motion graphics designer with over 15 years of experience. As well as a camera operator experience for over 10 years. In addition, Erika is a producer, director and technical director of a local origination programs at Comcast TV3.
Fredd has been in post for over 15 years, and for some reason still loves sitting in a dark room staring at a glowing screen! He has cut a pretty wide variety of material from corporate communication to behind the scenes and a whole lot in between.
He got involved with Broadcast Beat a few years ago and is looking forward to their meteoric rise to the top of the communications game!!
Kevin Rosa is a 38 year old originally from Connecticut where he was a musician, audio engineer, theater and technical director. In 2007 he moved down to Florida to go to Full Sail where he received a degree in show production and touring. He has been a privately contracted audio engineer since. Working in production industry, he’s had the chance to be involved in many sides of audio. From running monitors at local music festivals and being a audio technician for a broadcast studio, to having the honor of running FOH position for artists such as Jimmy Robins, Jason Eskridge and The Capitol Steps to Dr. Mehmet Oz, President Barrack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at large corporate events. Audio and music have always been his passion.
Daniel Salazar - VP, Operations
Daniel Salazar has been with Broadcast Beat right from the beginning and manages the day-to-day operations of our production facility located in Fort Lauderdale. His role at industry shows is to manage “recording crew" production staffers and to make sure people are where they need to be for shoots, interviews and more. Daniel also works directly with our Supervising Producer to assist in providing guests for NAB Show LIVE.
Sean Scully - Video Editor & Digital Asset Manager
Sean runs Broadcast Beat’s master control room during daily video interviews and shoots remotes with Ryan on a regular basis. He edits much of BB’s online content and manages digital assets. Sean also works independently as a Producer, Production Manager and Filmmaker. He is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Kevin Suarez is a Firefighter by day, and tech-lover by night! Just recently, Kevin has found interest in the realm of production and behind the scenes development. He enjoys helping the Broadcast Beat team by being the strength behind stage set up, and bettering his understanding of what our industry has to offer.
Tonya Traylor, Executive Director of Hollywood Playerz, LLC has over 20 years of diverse experience in broadcast/media development with emphasis on: brand development, video production, media production and distribution, social media networking, event planning, graphic design, script writing, on air TV production, and all areas mass marketing and development. Tonya is thrilled to be joining Broadcast Beat, a company committed to identifying local and national opportunities to deliver on their promise to secure and provide daily cutting edge Internationally viable content.
Eddie Vaca is the Founder and CEO of AmpLive, a live streaming platform helping broadcasters multiply audiences for their live events. For the last two years, they have helped brands like Microsoft, Salesforce, Martha Stewart and New York Fashion Week build audiences and drive hundreds of millions of viewers to their live shows. Janet West - Science & Technology Correspondent
Janet West’s career has turned a full circle - from environmental science to broadcasting and back to the environment, bringing an extensive international business career in marketing, management in the private and public sectors in the fields of television and film, communications and environmental consulting/lecturing and research. With a solid academic background with a Master’s Degree in Environmental Chemistry and Environmental Strategy, along with her practical experience, Janet offers a visionary view to sustainability in business. With over twenty-five years in broadcasting, she has seen the phenomenal changes the industry has experienced and is working to increase awareness of the impact of all these changes. Most recently, Janet has worked at BBC R&D, has been a Pioneer in Practice with the EU-funded Climate KIC program working with the Warwick University on carbon foot-printing IT services and involved with The University of Bologna on developing a communications strategy for sustainability for the connected world. Janet’s research interest is in the environmental impact of the connected world and she is often asked to speak at conferences and corporate events. Janet has been working with Broadcast Beat for two years, interviewing clients on their technological innovations and chairing panels on live TV.
Victoria Wilson is a freelance social media manager who has grown tremendously in the broadcasting and production field. Previously holding a full time position in a local studio, Victoria has managed the production of commercials for some big name clients such as Autonation, Michaels, and many more. She has now decided to dedicate herself solely to the management of her client's social media pages, and help Broadcast Beat thrive from her witty posts in the online world!
Nick Wracan - Social Media
Nick Wracan is a creative media professional, with a Bachelor's Degree in New Media. He is well-skilled in production techniques and is highly familiar with the newest technology used in the media industry today. His specific talent involves post-production in digital filmmaking, and he has performed various functions in in both production and post-production sections in digital filmmaking, including line producing, editing, and after effects. He has been a social media photographer for Broadcast Beat since 2014.
Trevor Yuen - Social Media
Trevor has been working with Broadcast Beat’s production staff since the 2014 NAB Show. He’s worked both behind-the-scenes with our editors, as well as on the show floor with camera crews. He has a great eye for composition and content, which always keeps our social media content interesting. Trevor resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
