Priority Points

| text size

Priority Points are NAB Show's® participation and loyalty reward system for Exhibitors, Advertisers and Sponsors. Accumulated Points dictate position in Space Selection order for the next year's Show.

Exhibitors accumulate Priority Points in three ways:

  1. By exhibiting at NAB Show.
  2. By becoming an Advertiser or Sponsor at NAB Show.
  3. By joining as an Associate Member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB)

How are Priority Points accumulated for the purchase of exhibit space?
Each Exhibitor is credited with ten (10) Priority Points for each year exhibiting at NAB Show, plus one point for each 100 square feet of exhibit space.

How are Priority Points accumulated for Advertising/Sponsorship Packages?
Priority Points will be awarded to current Exhibitors only for advertising or sponsorship dollars spent with NAB Show on the following dollar volume scale:

Amount Spent Priority Points
$500 - $3,999 1 point
$4,000 - $7,999 2 points
$8,000 - $11,999 3 points
$12,000 - $15,999 4 points
$16,000 - $19,999 5 points
$20,000 - $23,999 6 points
$24,000 - $27,999 7 points
$28,000 - $31,999 8 points
$32,000 - $35,999 9 points
$36,000 - $39,999 10 points
$40,000 - $43,999 11 points
$44,000 - $47,999 12 points
$48,000 - $51,999 13 points
$52,000 - $55,999 14 points
$56,000 and above 15 points

How do I receive additional Priority Points if I am an NAB Associate Member?
NAB Associate Members will receive three (3) priority points for each year membership is maintained. Exhibitors must be NAB members at the time of contracting for NAB Show exhibit space and maintain their membership status through the event.

What happens if my company buys an additional booth, increases/reduces booth size, or buys new or additional advertising/sponsorship products?
Each company will receive full credit for any changes/additions that positively or negatively impact the point total. NAB Show updates each company's Priority Point total before each space assignment cycle based on booth and advertising/sponsorship status at the time of space selection.

What if a company purchases another company on the Exhibit Floor that has accrued points over the years?
Priority Points earned for each company involved will be reviewed year by year and the highest Point total from each year will become the yearly Point total for the purchasing company.

Example for ABC, Inc. purchasing XYZ, Inc.:
ABC, Inc. exhibited in 1999, accruing 22 points and 2000, accruing 20 points.
XYZ, Inc. exhibited in 1998, accruing 30 points, 1999, accruing 22 points and 2000, accruing 11 points.

The newly combined ABC Inc. and XYZ Inc.'s new Priority Point total for this period is calculated by adding the highest point total either company received for each year; 30 points + 22 points + 20 points = 72 points

What happens to Priority Points if a company goes through a divestiture?
Priority Points earned during the shared years the two companies exhibited together will be divided equally, unless otherwise mutually desired as part of the divestiture agreement.

Example of ABC, Inc., & XYZ, Inc.'s divesture going into the 2002 Space Selection:
ABC, Inc. and XYZ Inc. exhibited together from 1998 - 2000. During this time period, XYZ Inc. held the primary, or parent account role for the space, accruing 20 points, 20 points and 25 points respectively each year. ABC, Inc. held a subsidiary account role for this time period, accruing 10 points each year. In 2001, XYZ, Inc. was sold to EFG, Inc. and ABC, Inc. continued to exhibit in the same space, accruing 30 points in 2001.

Priority Point totals for ABC Inc. going into the 2002 Space Selection are calculated by adding the highest point totals either company earned for each year they exhibited; 20 points + 20 points + 25 points + 30 points = 95 points.

Can my company lose its Priority Points?
Two consecutive absences from NAB Show or a breach of contract will result in the loss of all accrued Priority Points.

What if I believe my company's Priority Point total is incorrect?
Priority Points are calculated with great care and we believe they accurately reflect the status of each NAB Show Exhibitor. However, if you believe your company's Point total is incorrect, contact the NAB Show Exhibit Sales Team via email immediately and prior to Space Selection for the next year. Challenges to your Point total will not be addressed at the time of your company's Space Selection.

Priority Points are neither property nor a license and cannot be transferred, sold or assigned by an Exhibitor. The Priority Point system is subject to cancellation, change or modification by NAB Show at any time without prior notice.
