NAB Show Awards Videos

The following awards are presented at NAB Show® recognizing individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to the broadcast and entertainment industries or commitment to community service.

Best Paper Award

The Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit published in the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference Proceedings. The recipient of the award will be honored at the NAB Show Technology Luncheon.

Broadcasting Hall of Fame

The Broadcasting Hall of Fame recognizes radio and television personalities or programs that have earned a place in broadcasting history. The inductees are honored at the NAB Show Radio and Television Luncheons. Previous honorees include Bob Newhart, Vin Scully, Bob Barker, Larry Lujack, NBC's Meet the Press and Saturday Night Live, among others.

CORE Awards

Presented for the first time this year, the NAB Show CORE Awards recognize outstanding leaders for their contributions to the growth, success and evolution of the global entertainment content business. The CORE Executive of the Year is a revolutionary content owner that takes risks and strives for excellence in their company and the consumer experience. The CORE Innovator of the Year is a company or individual that improves the quality of business for content owners and consumers by facilitating the engagement and commerce of entertainment programming with easy adoption and measureable success.

Crystal Radio Awards

Marking its 25th Silver Anniversary, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards have recognized radio stations for their outstanding year-round commitment to community service. Fifty finalists are honored and ten winners are announced at the NAB Show Radio Luncheon.

Crystal Heritage Award

The Crystal Heritage Award is given to a station that has won five Crystal Radio Awards. WUSL-FM Philadelphia was the first station to receive the award. It is presented during the NAB Show Radio Luncheon.

Distinguished Service Award

Each year the NAB Distinguished Service Award recognizes broadcasters who have made significant and lasting contributions to the broadcasting industry. The NAB Distinguished Service Award is presented at the Opening Address of NAB Show each year. Past recipients include Eddie Fritts, Mary Tyler Moore, President Reagan, Edward R. Murrow, Bob Hope, Walter Cronkite, Oprah Winfrey and Charles Osgood, among others.

Engineering Achievement Award

This award is given each year to a radio and television industry leader for lifetime contributions who have advanced the state of the art of broadcast engineering. Winners are honored at the NAB Show Technology Luncheon.

Spirit of Broadcasting Award

The NAB Spirit of Broadcasting Award is a special honor given periodically to individuals or organizations that have made a unique and enduring difference in improving the broadcasting industry.

Television Chairman's Award

This award was established in 2009 to recognize individuals for a significant breakthrough in one or more specific art disciplines in television. Jim Parsons was honored with this award at the 2010 NAB Show Television Luncheon.

Technology Innovation Award

First presented at the 2009 NAB Show, NAB presents this award to organizations that bring advanced technology exhibits and demonstrations of significant merit to NAB Show. The nominated exhibit should present advanced research and development projects in communications technologies that have not yet been commercialized.

Candidates for the Technology Innovation Awards must be organizations who are currently exhibiting at NAB Show. The size of the organization is not a determining factor. Nominated projects may not be commercial products that have been offered for sale prior to or at NAB Show. The awards will be presented at the NAB Show Technology Luncheon.
