Bringing Broadcasters and Telecom Carriers Together

As broadcasters grow more dependent on telecom carriers for content distribution, and telecom carriers grow more dependent on content for revenue, the two industries increasingly rely on each other to achieve their business objectives. This year’s NAB Show will highlight Telecom Access Networks -- the technologies and business strategies that are advancing video and broadband subscriber networks in the 2010s.

Technologies used in these networks include Passive Optical Networks, Active Ethernet, and VDSL2. These technology choices are linked to important business decisions, such as whether to deploy Fiber-to-the-Curb, or Fiber-to-the-Home. Vendors creating these technologies include Calix, Alcatel-Lucent, Adtran, Occam, and Tellabs, as well as component and chip suppliers like Broadlight and Broadcom. These products are often sold through distributors such as KGP Logistics, Graybar, and Walker and Associates.

This year’s NAB Show will provide telecom executives a unique forum to discuss the business issues surrounding new network access technologies, while providing broadcasters deeper insights into how these growing distributors of content plan their networks.
